How to Install Window 8 Step by Step Guide.


Install Windows 8 in VirtualBox

Requirement:

  1. Oracle VM VirtualBox (Download Here)
  2. Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO file (32-bit or 64-bit) (Download Here)

Step by Step Guide to Install Windows 8 Developer Preview

Step 1. Make sure Oracle VM VirtualBox is installed in your computer. You could refer to the link above if you haven’t installed.

Step 2. Please follow the Virtual Machine setting as below for the Windows 8 Developer Preview installation:

Storage Setting Configuration. By default, the VDI file generated will be mounted as a SATA HDD. But, if it is treated as a SATA HDD, Windows 8 will fail to initiate the installation and BSOD will occurs. So the trick is to mount the VDI file under the IDE controller, with this way Windows 8 Developer Preview will install perfectly. And you need to mount the ISO file containing Windows 8 Developer Preview in the Storage.

Start the Windows 8 Developer Preview Installation
 Step 3. Once you setup the Virtual Machine you can then start installing Windows 8 which is pretty much similar to the one in Windows 7.
Step 4.  Configure the Regional Settings. In this pre-release you only provided with 3 option~ the Time and currency format and theKeyboard or input method settings. Press Next when done.

Step 5. Click on the Install now button.

Step 6. Accept the agreement by selecting the accept the license terms and press the Next button.

Step 7. Select the Custom (advanced) option to proceed.

Step 8.  Click Next in this screen.

Step 9. The Installation Wizard will now install the Windows 8 Developer Preview and automatically restart it when done.

Step 10. After installation, Windows 8 will allow you to personalize the installation. Name your computer and click next.

Step 11. You can change settings for Windows Update, Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP), Windows Defender, sensor usage and the Windows Firewall. You can simply choose Use express settings otherwise you can configure yourself with Customize.

Step 12. You can use your Windows Live account to log in the Windows 8. So no usernames and password need to be created if you already have your Hotmail account with Microsoft. Simply enter your Windows Live account information and in the next screen enter the password. Press Next.

Almost Done...

Step 13. You will have your Windows 8 Developer Preview ready when you see the screen below.
Finish. The installation is done!
